OFPOD -- Who can crack a one-time pad before it's used?

Kids are cute, right? Today's OFPOD has one, and a rather young someone else. Here's Bruce Schneier with our daughter Megen, from Midwestcon 1984. I suspect Bruce was trying to teach her how to encrypt the name badge she's holding, thus accounting for Megen's somewhat bemused look.

We didn't know when this skinny young kid started hanging around that we'd become good friends. But I'm glad it turned out that way.

Great. Then we can have a contest: who can come up with the best fictitious reason for Bruce to have smashed his finger? Ready? Go!

*I* think Bruce had tried to steal an Enigma machine, but didn't quite realize how hefty the damned thing was and managed to drop it on his finger as he tried to get it out of the display case. Alarms went off, but he managed (luckily for us) to elude capture.
