It occurred to me this morning that my first stories were published in the late 70s, which means I've had fiction published in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and 10's. Five decades.

Gads... I'm old.

Heh. I still remember the look on your face when I asked you to sign my copy of "Slow Fall to Dawn".

You're not old, dude. You're classic. Excuse me, Classic(TM).

As long as you don't turn into one of those aging fen/pros who complain that the kids in SF today don't know anything and why are they reading that diluted crap and they should have more respect for the antecedents of the genre blah blah blah...

As long as you don't turn into one of those guys, then you're not old, you're a Respected Elder Statesman.

Sheesh! I was 40-something (maybe 50) when you first got published professionally, and I'll always consider you one of those Up-and-coming Young Writers.
