The news is filtering out that President Obama has won the Nobel Peace Prize. This is a real WTF for me...
I voted for Obama because yes, he did have a vision of international cooperation and understanding that dovetailed nicely with my own. But... I'm sorry. but as of yet he's done nothing that deserves the Nobel Peace Prize other than talk a nice game. He hasn't been in office long enough to have accomplished anything of lasting import. Maybe he will (I hope he will) in coming months and years. But not yet.
President Obama doesn't deserve the Nobel Peace Prize, and the only reason I can see for the Committee to have awarded it to him is because they're so overjoyed that our previous administration has departed that their happiness has blinded them. Sorry, Nobel Committee, I can only shake my head and hope that one day forward, you might actually have retroactive reasons to have given Obama this award, because you certainly don't have those reasons yet.

I would say that Obama hasn't earned the Prize (quibbling over "doesn't deserve"). He certainly has shown the potential.
If they wanted to make a political statement, they should have given Bill Clinton his long-overdue honor for the Good Friday Accord, the Dayton Accord, and the good work of the Clinton Foundation.
