Palin resigning as Governor

 According to several news reports, Sarah Palin is resigning in the midst of her term as Governor of Alsaka.  Huh...  That seems to be a bizarre move, and not one a person who is considering running for POTUS should take...  I guess we'll see how this all falls out.  Even the Republican pundits seem to be scratching their heads over this one.

I suppose that's possible, but it seems to me that this move kills any presidential aspirations she might have. It would cerainly give fodder to any opposing candidate, either within her own party during the primaries or to (presumably) Obama in the general election.

The same could be true in a Sematorial election -- as one Republican strategist (can't remember the name...) said: "Quitting isn't exactly one of our conservative values."
