... and I'm such a sucker for peer pressure, I've opened a Twitter account. You can follow me at sleighwriter if you're so inclined. Or if you're really, really bored. (ETA: try going to http://twitter.com/sleighwriter if a search doesn't show sleighwriter, as a couple people have indicated. I'm there, honest. I already have a few people following me...)

There's been a large "Twitter, yes or no" discussion on one of the writers' groups to which I belong, and the majority seem to feel that twittering has worked for them, so I'm dipping my toes in the water-- and we'll see whether I like or hate it.

Hmm... Anyone interested in what I had for dinner? :-)

Not to worry. To me, LJ is a different animal; it's about conversation and more in-depth thoughts. I ignore all the 'twitter' posts on LJ. Besides, I'm a novelists. 140 characters isn't really enough 'space' for me! :-)

I've seen people replicating their tweets on LJ, and I'd seen someone mention that they were using an application called "Loudtwitter" to do that. Those posts seemed so "Un-LJ like" that I now tend to just skip over one or two line posts unless something seems to catch my eye. And I've seen some people (like pegkerr who post their daily tweets behind an LJ Cut.
