And by shiny, I mean literally, with the beautiful foil cover... BUSTED FLUSH, the latest incarnation of the long-running WILD CARDS series (edited by George RR Martin) has its official release date today! That S.L. Farrell fella has a story in it, too, featuring his character Michael Vogali, akak "DB", aka "Don't $#@%ing call me Drummer Boy!"
In this one, the new aces have to deal with a middle eastern oil crisis, a massive hurricane in the Gulf (and zombies in New Orleans), what appears to be a nuclear explosion in Texas, and a humanitarian crisis in Africa. All at once. Melinda Snodgrass gets the interstitial task of weaving it all together into a seamless whole, and does a stellar job of that task.
