Bush's "State of the Union" address was about as bland a speech as I've ever heard, full of generalized platitudes that only disturbed individuals could fail to agree with, and short of many actual details of how such things might be accomplished. When he did offer actual strategies, it was obvious that only Republicans had any interest in following them, and even their agreement was tepid.

I suspect that not much is going to happen on his legislative agenda in the next year and a half...

Read it and saw it as well. I thought his two points on the state of the economy and on the "war on terror" were well-constructed.

And I loved the tag: "And if not, we will be showing him the way..."

Oh, and did you catch the little mention in the midst of the SOTU speech about "Civilian Reserve Corps" -- a private army, in essence. Now there's a scary thought, though I don't think he has a chance in hell of ramming that through.
