Department 'retreat' today (and no, we did not discuss semicolons...). Tomorrow, convocation on campus. Syllabi due to be uploaded online by Monday.

Yep. Back to school.

I love teaching, but the politics and crud that seems to be rolling down hill currently is just making me want to go dig a hole.

I concur. I love teaching. I hate the politics involved in academia, which are easily as nasty as the politics of corporate culture...
