OK -- the writing news that I couldn't tell you before...
Arc Manor, a relatively new small press, contacted me a few months back asking if I'd be interested in their reprinting DARK WATER'S EMBRACE and SPEAKING STONES, because, as Shahid Mahmud, the publisher, said: "I read “Dark Water’s Embrace” (and “Speaking Stones” soon after) and loved the book(s). I still consider it to be one of the most inventive and thought provoking sci-fi books I have read in the last couple of decades..."
So, after putting him in touch with my agent, we now have an agreement. Arc Manor (through their sf/fantasy imprint "Phoenix Pick") will be reprinting both books, starting with DARK WATER'S EMBRACE. I don't know the exact release date at this point, but since the news is up on their site, I figured I might as well mention it here.
I'm very pleased by this, since DWE and its sequel SS are still two of my very favorite books. DWE, for what it's worth, garnered several excellent reviews when it was released (and won the Spectrum Award for Best Novel). I'm glad that they'll both be available for people to pick up again and read. And hey, this'll actually be the first time one of my books will be in trade paperback format.
