The mud-throwing will now commence. According to this WaPo article, McCain has decided that talking about his time as a war prisoner, his 'maverick' status in Congress, his 'straight talk', his plans for the economy, and how the surge will win in Iraq hasn't helped him.

It's time to go seriously negative. McCain's positive commercials have been pulled. They're going to attack Obama's honesty, his associations with criminal elements, and his fitness to serve as president. " "We are looking for a very aggressive last 30 days," said Greg Strimple, one of McCain's top advisers. "We are looking forward to turning a page on this financial crisis and getting back to discussing Mr. Obama's aggressively liberal record and how he will be too risky for Americans." "

Should be a fun last month, eh?

"Maverick" is a term other people may use when referring to you. But when you refer to yourself as a maverick, you are no longer a maverick, only a parody. It's like referring to yourself as "attractive," "talented," "intelligent," or "good in bed." It might be the case, but at best it's egotistical and at worse it's a lie.

Oh, and that mud-slinging I mentioned was coming in the last post? Here it comes. Palin in Colorado today said: ""Our opponent though, is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."
