Wow! What a fantastic time!
The weekend was wonderful and glorious and those of you who weren't there should be regretting that you missed this (and plotting how to get there next time). My, the tales that will be going around about the fabulous music and the amazing panels demonstrating boiling water with ice cubes and hot freezing, and the fabulariffic trophies for the Wizard Tournament, and the food and the conviality, and the sheer splendiferousness of the event.
Boy, did you miss a good one!
Many, many thanks and much appreciation to the hard work and the drive of
mizzlaurajean, who is the eighth wonder of the fannish world, and her co-chair
lsanderson and the assistance of
davidschroth, and
chasophonic's deft chairmanship of the music programming, and
haniaw's layout of the Program Book, and
bonz_lizard's artwork, and
minnehaha B's wonderful bio, and
minnehaha K's directing of the tournament.
gerisullivan needs to be thanked for packing her boots, and for the treasured concert DVDs.
drewan was doing a lot of videography of the convention. And the musicians who made the circle wonderful: Chas and
chirosinger and
lollardfish and
fredcritter and Ann-whom-everyone-wants-to-steal and
markiv1111 and Louie and
musicmutt and Teresa and Floyd and Jeff and I know I'm forgetting a person or two or three...
Actually, I'd love to list everyone who was there and who I talked with and who contributed to the things just by their sparkling presence, but hey, let's just leave it at "THANKS, ALL!"
And the REALLY good news is that Laura Jean intends to do it again. If you go HERE before April 19, you can pre-register for the 2009 version of Applecon CHEAP...
There were lots of pictures taken (some of them stunning), but I haven't yet figured out where they all are, but I saw a few from
barondave's journal... I know there are others out there and will link to 'em once I find 'em.
Thanks again to everyone who helped make Applecon what it was!
EDITED TO ADD: Here's a link to a set of Applecon pictures; http://www.geofstone.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=30 I don't know Geof -- met him for the first time there -- but OMG! the man does incredible photography...
