Completely agree about the text making one crazy. As long as your using audio (music track) I would go with a audio narration instead of (or in addition to) some non-zooming text elements.

Now that I've read the text teaser/blurb, I'd be much more interested if that had been spoken narration over the images, especially as we are introduced to a character we can care about.
