This is another one that Denise suggested I do for the Pandemic World series: a Leonard Cohen song, perhaps his best known — “Hallelujah”.  This one’s been in my repertoire for some time, but I stopped performing it back in 2013. This was a song that my father, when he was alive, always requested that I sing whenever he came to hear me. After Dad passed away, I found I had a really difficult time getting through the song without choking up. And when Leonard Cohen passed away in 2016, everyone was singing this song in tribute and that meant it was so overplayed that I had little interest in reviving the song in my playlist.

But… maybe it’s time.

As always, this is a first take and what you hear is what you get. You’re more than welcome to sing along on the chorus (I love it when that happens!) and give it some lovely harmonies.  Subscribe to my YouTube channel if you wish (sleighwriter), drop a comment or two wherever you hear this if you’d like. Otherwise, see you next time and thanks for listening!
