Bones of Air, Bones of Stone

A reading of an excerpt from "Bones of Air, Bones of Stone", a novelette that was published in the George RR Martin/Gardner Dozois edited anthology entitled OLD VENUS, from Bantam Books in 2015. The anthology's theme (like that of OLD MARS which preceded it) was to emulate the science fiction of the 1940s/50s set on Mars and Venus, back when we still believed those planets could harbor abundant life like ours and possibly even sentient species—before the probes we sent to both of those planets in the 60s destroyed that hope.
