After getting an email yesterday that NKU will be locking all the buildings on campus on Thursday, and knowing that I won't be back to teach in Fall as I'm retiring, Denise and I went down to the campus today and cleaned out my office. It was a bittersweet experience. I still have to 'teach' the rest of the semester, but that will be done online via Canvas, and it's not the same as being in the classroom with my students. Not even close, as we had only two weeks to move the classes from face-to-face to online-only, and that's simply not adequate time (especially for those like me, who have never taught on online class) to put together anything but a hurried and improvised structure with the KISS principle heavily in play.
So my office away from my home office is now gone. I won't be back there, in all likelihood, except perhaps at some point in time to return the keys. Bye, NKU office. I enjoyed spending time in you!

Brian moved many things from his office here, including the plants and the huge whiteboard. He's teaching from the dining room, now. But of course he expects to go back at some point.
*many hugs*
