This original recording of this came up in my random iTunes play (as I was working on the novel). I had to stop -- one can't write to Peter Schickele, aka P.D.Q. Bach (well, at least I can't), but it reminded me how hilarious I always found the piece. So I wandered over to YouTube and found a live recording of the piece. Somewhat different, but still pretty funny.
Denise and I saw Schickele in person once with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. I still remember the bass drum (as in "played with a fish") and the Bermuda Triangle (which disappeared at one point in the concert).
