Will Scotland secede from the UK on September 16? Evidently, it's a toss-up (which doesn't bode well no matter which way it goes, honestly...) What do you think about this? Which way would you vote if you were a resident of Scotland?

If Scotland leaves the UK, we'd need a new Doctor on Doctor Who, as he wouldn't be British all of a sudden.

Another doctor? Oh, no! (Can we please have a female or non-white doctor this time? Please?)

I'd totally vote for independence. I've been in favour since I was a teenager, just on the general principle. I'm not so sure now that it's a good idea, but I'd vote for it anyway, just to see what happened. It'd be so interesting. We know how things work with Scotland in the UK (hint: not so well, for most Scots); I'd love to see how things worked for an independent Scotland.

I admittedly know almost _nothing_ about the arguments for and against Scotland leaving the UK. But an independent Scotland might be very interesting.

I have been thinking about this, offhandedly, and think I might as well vote to secede, because shaking things up is never a bad idea, right? ;-\

Shaking things up does sometimes force you to examine how and why things work, and how to do it better.

Still... this would be one BIG shake-up.
