Another of the waterfowl at St. Catherine's: a heron-- Birdsnap claims that it's a black-crowned night heron, and perhaps it's right and perhaps it's wrong (I must admit that I no longer trust Birdsnap's identifications). However, one can tell that LOTS of birds have perched on that rock...

Black-Crowned Night Herons live at the Detroit Zoo during the summer. Once I got all excited about seeing new-to-me birds at one of the ponds in the zoo, until I realized they were juvenile Night Herons, in a different place than I was used to see them. The juvenile plumage is nothing like the adult:
