And the last new visitor of the week is the White-Breasted Nuthatch, who arrived about five minutes after the Grosbeak from yesterday's picture. The nuthatch is a pretty, small bird (dear students, please note that the use of a comma there makes a large difference, as a "pretty, small bird" isn't a "pretty small bird.")

I haven't seen nuthatches in my yard since the neighbor's tree that was just the other side of the fence was cut down. I'm glad the tree is gone -- large chunks of it kept dropping onto my driveway and buildings -- but I miss the nuthatches.
