The OFPOD today is a terrible photograph from a technical viewpoint, but it was one of those "gotta snap this now or lose it" moments, recording a most horrific attack on a well-respected writer and the editor of one of science fiction's most revered magazines. Here, at the 1979 NASFIC in Louisville, Denise evidently snapped and in a fit of pique at Gardner Dozois (perhaps for rejecting one of my stories), launched herself at him. You can see the incredible fear in Gardner's eyes and the rage in Denise's face. Off to the side Howard Waldrop is contemplating his own safety and preparing to quickly retreat.
