One of the definitions of the word congress is "the act of coming together." That's something that our legislative Congress is supposed to do, at least to some extent.

They haven't.

The Washington Post has a stunning, well-researched indictment of the 112th Congress in this article. You really should read it, but prepare to get angry.

Lots. There are many fixes, some more radical than others, but the hard part is getting from here to anywhere better. Both American political parties, and all the big financial interests, like the current dysfunctional system.
