Devon in Mexico

Devon's in Mexico -- though he had a rough day of travel… His plane was to leave Indy at 6:00 AM, so he had to get up ridiculously early to make the flight (Denise and I drove him there Thursday evening; he stayed in one of the airport hotels). However, the plane had some defective electronics that needed to be replaced, which had to be flown in from somewhere else, so the 6:00AM flight actually didn't leave until 1:30PM -- which meant, of course, that he couldn't make the original connecting flight into Cancun in Houston (which was to leave at 9:45 AM; they rebooked him for a 7:30PM flight from Houston (and upgraded him to first class).

Then that flight left over an hour late itself…

But he's in Mexico now, and will hopefully have an excellent time -- he's staying with a friend who moved there. Hell get to practice his conversational Spanish quite a bit, I expect.

Hope the return flights go better!

Playa del Carmen, about an hour out of Cancun.

He has a friend his own age who moved to a Mexican tourist town? How interesting.

Not his own age, but someone significantly older -- his former boss from the music store, who is currently selling real estate in Playa (I think Devon said he sells beachfront condos.) He's been in Playa for 8 months or so, with the intent of giving it a year or two to see how he likes it.
