A picture of Rusty Hevelin, taken on 12/11/11, on our second last visit to see him. That day, he was feeling well and was looking forward to going to Gainesville where Gay had found him an assisted living place very near the Haldeman house. His only complaint was that his little toe was all black and blue because, he said, a nurse had hurt it while putting on his shoe.

Little did we know then how soon he'd be gone...

The last time I saw Rusty was at the last Mikecon. He grinned a big grin when he saw me, and gave me a warm hug. I'll cherish that memory.
