It appears that I'll be in London over New Years, helping to herd students about. Should be fun!

Do you get any student-free time? I'm only 45 mins by train from central London, if you would be interested in meeting for coffee etc. Or, alternatively, if your students would be interested, I'd be happy to do my Celtic historian thing for them.

I'd love to do that, Kari. At the moment, I don't know my schedule (other than that we'll be there from Dec. 27 - Jan 7). I'll let you know when I have a firm itinerary (and heck, I'll mention the Celtic Historian connection to Andy Miller, who's the primary instructor for the course.)

That works for me. In Celtic mode, I'm Dr Kari Maund/K L Maund, if he wants to check my credentials. I'm retired from university teaching, but I still do research.

Having just done some of that in the same place, I'm thrilled for you. Enjoy!

I shall!

BTW, if I sent you a couple segments of the novel-in-progress (set in Venice and Rome), would you have the time or the interest to look 'em over to catch any glaring historical or general setting errors? "No," incidentally, is a perfectly acceptable answer -- I give that answer myself often during the school year to similar requests.
