Hopefully, none of you were caught up in the hordes raiding Kroger last Saturday before the Snowmageddon of 2- 4 inches of White Death fell. None of you felt the need to stock up on enough bread and milk to survive a potential month of "Help! I'm snowed in and I can't get out!" panic -- though Tom Vogel did go to his local Kroger to get a month's worth of beer, but then he does that every week.

Nah. Toast! fans are much too intelligent for that. While the snow gently drifted down outside your windows, you guys were reading the latest book by Francine Prose, curled up in your jammies as a fire crackled in the hearth, sipping a tumbler of Lagavulin (with just a touch of spring water) and listening to Debussy. Oh, wait a minute... Maybe that was the latest Stephenie Meyer book, sipping a glass of Diet Coke while sitting on the radiator and listening to Lady Gaga. Whatever.

In any case, Snowmageddon has passed, and while the temperature still hovers in the single digits at night, we know you're getting cabin fever and you're desperate to FINALLY get out of the #@&$% house and DO SOMETHING BEFORE YOU GO STARK RAVING MAD AND GRAB THAT AXE FROM THE GARAGE, CURSING WILDLY AS YOU STOMP BACK INSIDE, AND...

Umm, sorry about that. We're pretty sure that was the horror movie we were watching last night. We hope so, anyway. Okay.... Just breathe.... Imagine yourself on a warm tropical beach, with the waves lapping gently at the pure white sand...

Ah, good. We're back. What were we saying? Oh, yes. TOAST! is playing at De Sha's this Saturday evening from 7:30 - 11:00, and we think it'd be really lovely if you were there. Honest! We had a terrific night the last time we were there, and we'd just love to repeat it. Dale is going to bring all twelve guitars that he's bought in the last week and play them simultaneously. Mike Russell has a new percussion instrument made from icicles that were hanging on his house. Alas, SG kept his sax out in his cold truck the last three days, and when he took it out to practice, his lips froze to the mouthpiece; we're hoping everything thaws out by Saturday. Rick and Steve have given up on amplifiers entirely and will be playing only acoustic instruments from now on -- so if you can get there early and help us bring in Rick's grand piano, we'd appreciate it. Tom Steele has decided to take on the seasonal role of Scrooge and has turned off the heat in all his rental property -- however, De Sha's will still be nice and toasty... because Toast! is playing there! Get it? Nice and toasty?

All we need is you! Mark it on your calendars: this Saturday you're finally going to go out and have some fun. And if you don't, you're going to come hear Toast! play at De Sha's instead!

DeSha's is at 11320 Montgomery Road/Harper’s Point.
