Electronista is reporting that another of the Six Sisters, Hachette, is following the lead of Macmillan and informing amazon that it too is changing its pricing structure to follow the "agency" model proposed by Apple, allowing the publisher to use flexible pricing.

So I wonder if we'll see amazon removing "Buy" buttons from all the Hachette titles also? Hachette lines include Little Brown, Orbit, Grand Central, WIndblown, and Center Street.

Who's next, I wonder?

It occurs to me that if enough publishers do this, Amazon will have to stop acting like a petulant child and start doing business like a civilized company.

HarperCollins (Rupert Murdoch has already made a public statement to the effect that they would be renegotiating with Amazon.com). In fact, I think every single publisher that was part of the iPad launch will step up with this model, as it's the model required by the app store.

Random House would be the only holdout, as it wasn't present on iPad launch. Just my guess.
