This is undoubtedly all over the blogosphere already, but the Iowa Supreme Court has struck down the state's ban on same-sex marriage as unconstitutional! Iowa, you rock!

Iowa now joins Massachusetts and Connecticut as the states that now allow same-sex marriage, and hey, it's a hell of a lot easier to spell, too.

Iowa

As far as the spelling is concerned, I believe I have heard of people living on the East Coast who do not know the difference between Iowa and Ohio.

That's great news! Is this a possibility in California?

Awesome!

Now if only my state -- California -- were as progressive as Iowa....

Great news from the courts (and had to laugh when I saw some clips of anti-gay marriage spokesmen talking about radical activists - I mean, Iowa? Really?) Unfortunately, the anti forces are likely to try to organize a state-wide referendum, which sadly is likely to go the same way as California's.

However, for now, let us rejoice!
