Pope: Straight People = Rainforest; Gay People = Loggers

Pope Benedict XVI, the latest travesty (in my opinion) to sit on the papal throne, linked saving the rainforest to saving humankind from "self-destruction" by homosexuals and transsexuals. Damn, all of us straight people ought to be on the lookout for GLBT people with axes, I suppose. Or maybe it'll be Gay Climate Change. "If tropical forests deserve our protection, humankind... deserves it no less," the pope said in his end-of-the-year address, when he offers his annual Christmas greetings.

*sigh* Bah humbug, Mr. Ratzinger.
