Well, May has ended, so I thought I'd bring people up to date (as promised) on the progress (or lack thereof) of THE WOODS. April saw 19 copies of the novel sold through three outlets: Amazon (10), B&N (6), and Apple (3).

For the locals... TOAST! Silverton Cafe! Friday!

Sure, you already have the important information from the subject header line: TOAST! is playing at the Silverton Cafe (7201 Montgomery Road in Silverton) this Friday evening from 8:30 - 12:30. But the real question on everyone's mind is this:

Will Dale Lewis declare himself a candidate for president?

Dale has been coy throughout this early campaign season. Sure, after he quit (he says he 'retired') halfway through his last job governing the convention center, everyone thought he was washed up. But with the old (and we mean really old) Lewis charm, the Grizzly Daddy kept himself in the news spotlight, just recently starting his "Greyhound Bus Tour" of all the Greyhound terminals in the nation. However, CNN reports Dale as saying "This isn't a campaign tour; I just love hanging around Greyhound terminals and being with real Americans."

Rumors are that Dale has recruited most of the other members of TOAST! to help with his non-campaign campaign. Steve Leigh will be writing his speeches (which means his speeches will make just about as much sense as when Dale speaks extemporaneously.) Tom Steele is searching for a suitable location for Dale's campaign headquarters, while Rick Hagee is crafting Dale's campaign song, which is rumored to be titled "Why Not Me? I'm Better Than You!" Tom Vogel and Mike Russell, who not only both are fine percussionists but who also both do incredible woodworking, are creating a "Campaign Guitar" from exotic woods such as Ply and Putty. Steve Gallant was seen shining, buffing, and polishing Dale's checked shoes, which are an integral part of Dale's campaign persona; SG was also counting Dale's socks to make sure he had a new pair for every stop.

The strongest rumor, however, is that Dale will be making "A HUGE announcement" on stage this Friday night. We're sure none of you wish to miss that, so plan on being there! In fact, why not come a bit early to make sure you have a seat, and partake of some of the fine cuisine available at the Cafe?

We can feel the enthusiasm just oozing from every pore!
