If anyone needed more of an indication that King George operates not by reality but through an unchanging inner vision of the world woven from the strands of his religious and neo-con political mindset, the latest report from the NIE and reports that he evidently has known about this report for months despite his war-drums rhetoric should be evidence enough.

Even now that the conclusions of the report have been made public, the White House 'spin' is that in their reality, this confirms that Iran is a threat because they could have chosen the path of nuclear weapon development. Stephen Hadley, national security advisor, said: "...it confirms that we were right to be worried about Iran seeking to develop nuclear weapons." President Bush said: "What's to say they couldn't start another covert nuclear weapons program?... Iran was dangerous, Iran is dangerous and Iran will be dangerous if they have the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon."

You're an enemy of this administration if it's possible for you to have even thought of being a threat to it. My, how Orwellian...

I find it interesting that someone high up decided that the conclusions of the report needed to be made public when it seems the White House wasn't going to say a word about the report or change its rhetoric in the face of it. I also find it interesting that the White House no longer has the clout to keep this secret -- that's encouraging. Makes one wonder what else the White House knows that's at odds with their policies...
