We've spent the last week of so, off and on, painting the entrance hallway -- stripping off the old wallpaper, scraping the glue off the walls, putting on primer, and finally painting it.

Here's part of what it looks like now. [livejournal.com profile] haniaw would be proud.

Now there's the hallway into the kitchen and upstairs to paint (not red, but a warm light brown called "oatmeal"), and then next Devon's old room (which will become my office) and my current office (which will become a spare guest bedroom. Then there's the front room, and the dining room with the wallpaper I've hated since we moved in here, and Megen's former two rooms on the third floor, and...

One day, we'll be finished. At which point it'll be time to start over...

Looks great! The red's a nice color, matches well with the woodwork.

I think it looks lovely. [livejournal.com profile] mizzlaurajean has a similar taste in dramatic red walls.

That looks lovely! I am also reminded of Mizz Laura Jean and Harriet Manor. I can't wait to own a house so I can make it colors.:)

The alcove looks good! I know that neverending chain, it feels pretty formidable sometimes. By the way, thanks for signing the books!

I approve

The alcove looks rich! I like it. I had a color scare a few years back and now I am pretty stingy with it on the walls. There is so much taping and trim work in my house it is not good to make a mistake. What color will your office be? I'm assuming that no one's taste need be consider other than your own....
