This is what usually happens, so I shouldn't be surprised. In the last post, I crowed about having finished a story so I could get back to the novel-in-progress, but late that afternoon, a big, fat, and heavy package landed on our doorstep: the galleys for A MAGIC OF TWILIGHT. So A MAGIC OF NIGHTFALL will have to wait a bit longer while I go over the manuscript so I can get it back to DAW.

At least DAW doesn't do the awful thing (that other publishers have done to me in the past) of needing to have the corrected galleys back to them in a few days -- the deadline for corrections is Oct. 5, which is more than reasonable.

And I'll be able to take the big Pile 'o Paper to my Novel Writing class on Monday night and show them what galleys are... :-)

I'm happy to hear that we're getting that much closer to being able to read A Magic of Twilight!

And this is one of the reasons I didn't get to proofread this! I'm gonna be in North Carolina from the end of next week through the 5th (in-laws' 50th wedding anniversary--can't miss that). So I'll just have to read it for fun and not get paid for it. (gasp!) Unless I end up proofing it when it goes into paperback.

I'll be certain to leave some mistakes for you to catch! (I can practically guarantee it...) :-)
