BUSTED FLUSH will be the second in the new series of WILD CARDS novels -- edited by George RR Martin (aka ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
grrm), and published by Tor Books (with the in-house editing performed by pnh). George recently put out the call for proposals for the book, and I pitched. George has told me he's accepting the pitch. As with the story I'll have in INSIDE STRAIGHT, the first of the new series which will be published in January '08, I'll be writing about my character "DB" (aka "Drummer Boy" -- a sobriquet he hates -- or "Michael Vogali"), and working with a fine group of writers. The story, like "Incidental Music for Heroes" in INSIDE STRAIGHT, will be under the "S.L. Farrell" byline.

Writing for the WILD CARDS shared world universe is a tremendous amount of work, due to all the coordination that must be done between all the writers in a particular volume (and the massive amounts of editing and revision that go with making something written by eight or nine writers appear as seamless as possible), but I've always felt that the effort was well worth the result. This, I hope, will be no different.
And, of course, it's all dependent on getting George a story he deems acceptable...
