Cover for A MAGIC OF TWILIGHT

Sheila told me today that she's commissioned Todd Lockwood to do the cover for A MAGIC OF TWILIGHT. That made me salivate immediately (don't worry, I wiped it up and none of it got on the keyboard.) Todd Lockwood created the cover for Tad William's SHADOWPLAY (which is a gorgeous, evocative, and exquisitely detailed cityscape) as well as covers for Toby Buckell's two novels, two very different looks and two very effective covers, as well. Look through his galleries on the website -- he's done beautiful work!

So I'm really looking forward to seeing what he comes up with for the first Nessantico book; I can't wait to see what his vision of this world I've created looks like...

Woo Hoo! I know I'd be excited if I were in your place.

As to your earlier query to readers at large as to what's been going on...

I've been settling into my new job and in the past few weeks settling into working from home full time. That is going better than I had expected. I'm enjoying the work more than my past job. I get more frequent FOAs and that makes a difference. The work day goes by pretty quickly and I'm feeling productive.

I've got a couple significant house projects in the works. I contacted a local university with an interior design curriculum and am working with a couple seniors to completely redesign my small main bathroom. They will be starting an interior design business in the next few months and will be needing references, I'll get a good deal and good effort. Second, the front of my house has no landscaping at all and I'm putting together a landscaping plan I hope to make real in a month or so.

Aside from that, I considering a secondary career as a mediator. There's an initial class I need to take to get started. The catch is, it wouldn't support me on its own from what I've been told, even if I am successful, but I think I would find it much more satisfying than what I do now. So I'm giving that some thought.

Oh - and my adopted son Joe, his wife Aimee and my grand daughter Emeline (2) are moving back to Michigan after 10 years in California.

And knowing you, I think you'd make a wonderful mediator.

And I wasn't aware that you had an adopted son. I'd say that having them in the same state should mean you'll be able to see them more often, except that it seems that Denise and I still see some of our local friends only at out-of-town cons... :-)
