We all crawl before we walk

This one in the Pandemic World Series is another Richard Thompson tune, “Crawl Back.” This song is our friend Frank Johnson’s fault, since Frank suggested—actually, insisted—that I needed to add this to my song list. I’m glad I did; it’s a great song (it's Richard Thompson, so of course it is!), and every time Frank came to hear me, he would lead his table in answering with the chorus call-back shout from the audience: “I’ll crawl back (CRAWL BACK!) under my stone / I’ll crawl back (CRAWL BACK!) under my stone…”

 

Unfortunately, Frank passed away last year, but every time I play this I still hear him in my mind… So this one’s for you, Frank! You’re very much missed by all of us!
