An excerpt from the opening of my novel CROW OF CONNEMARA (by Stephen Leigh). This is a fantasy novel first published in 2015, the majority of which takes place on the west coast of Ireland, in the (surprise! Connemara region). However, some of the opening chapters (like the second chapter I read here) take place in Chicago.
