Another torturous night on the debate stage

 Some random second debate thoughts:

1) The winner for me (and by several lengths) was Kamala Harris, who came off as genuine, strong, and articulate without sounding like she was reciting a stale memorized stump speech. Runner-up (but way back) was Pete Buttigieg.

2) Not impressive at all to me personally: Bernie "I'M SHOUTING AT YOU SO LISTEN!" Sanders and Joe "I'm not passing any damn torch" Biden. Sorry, old white guys (says this old white guy), your time is no longer now.

3) Most of the rest of the pack had no reason to be up there at all — in fact, a few (I'm looking at you, Marianne "All We Need Is Love" Williamson) were downright laughable. This field desperately needs to be winnowed and soon. A dozen or so of these people (from both debates) need to to realize that they are never going to be the candidate and it's time to go home. But alas, I fear they won't.

I agree. Bernie and Joe are simply too old--electing an 80 year old to a second term? I don't think so!--and once the Democrats have their younger nominee, they can campaign against the 70-whatever Drumpf.

Kristen Gillibrand would never have my support. Al Franken was my senator, and he was a good mind in the Senate.
