OK, today two more original tunes:

"Youve Gone" (http://www.stephenleigh.com/Gone.mp3) and "Leave Me Alone" (http://www.stephenleigh.com/alone.mp3)

These will like be the last for a bit (I can hear everyone muttering "Thank God!" under their breath). Here's the commentary for these:

"You've Gone" is a tune that I originally put together three or four years back in Apple's Garageband, trying to imitate the sound of a full band. I'm playing all the parts except for the drums, which are pre-recorded loops and some occasional hits from a midi keyboard I had at the time (and no longer have). The guitars aren't acoustic this time, but were done with my Guild Starfire V electric. I'm also playing bass and singing all the vocals, including the somewhat dissonant ones on the chorus that my jazz-playing son (Hi, Devon!) insisted I should do.

But the Garageband version was muddy and not sufficiently hi-fidelity. One thing Logic Pro X can do is import Garageband tracks and allow you to change and adjust the settings. So I did that with "You've Gone" and I'm much happier with the result. This is a tune I do occasionally on solo gigs, too -- with just acoustic guitar and one voice. Maybe down the road I'll record that version too. Maybe... or maybe not.

"Leave Me Alone" I put together as I do it on solo gigs, where I have a loop of the chords so I can do some soloing over them. Beyond that, I'll let the song speak for itself.
