The bank Wells Fargo has an ad you may have seen, featuring a deaf lesbian couple adopting a deaf child. For a commercial, it's touching, and as a parent of a gay daughter, I'm pleased to see the social acceptance implied by this corporate ad. But, of course, there are segments of our society who are disgusted by such acceptance. CNN is reporting (http://money.cnn.com/…/franklin-graham-lgbt-well…/index.html) that Christian evangelist Franklin Graham (the son of Billy Graham, and who now heads the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association), is appalled by this and asked in a FB post "...how can we fight the tide of moral decay that is being crammed down our throats by big business, the media, and the gay & lesbian community?"
Well, Franklin, I, for one, don't see the ad as a symbol of moral decay but as a symbol of moral ascent. And if you're choking on that, then maybe you're not actually on the side of the angels.
