MBP: Here's the chickadee from Friday after it retrieved a seed from the feeder. I've seen the chickadees open the seeds two ways. Some of them clutch the seed between their feet and hammer at the seed that way. This one is showing the alternative method. You can see from the blurring of the head that it's hammering the seed in its beak against the metal perch. I could hear the constant tap-tap-tap. Hard work!
