In the mornings especially, I'll look out and see a cloud of birds around the feeder -- mostly house sparrows and house finches with mourning doves on the ground, but the occasional cardinal, nuthatch, titmouse, or chickadee. There used to be lots of black birds around too -- grackles, starlings, cowbirds, and crows -- but of late, they've been absent, presumably feeding elsewhere. And there are the rare visitors too: woodpeckers, grosbeaks, etc.
