Here's a grackle in the morning sun. At a quick glance, a grackle looks like a black bird, but in this light you can see the brownish cast of the body feathers as well as the iridescent blue head.

Interesting how the black birds seem to flock together regardless of species. I'll see grackles, starlings, and crows together quite often.
