As I've said before in this series, it's the male cardinal that gets all the attention because, well, it's so damn RED. But as someone married (for 40 years as of today) to a person who is undeniably smarter, more socially adept, and more intuitively accurate than me, I know one should NOT ignore the female of the species.

And the female cardinal's pretty damned attractive on its own, I think, and a hell of a lot more subtle about it.
