Here's a bird feeder sequence from this morning for you. First, a cardinal and a goldfinch, then the goldfinch is joined by others...

I don't always comment but I so very much enjoy these pix. Am I to understand that it is that green outside where you live right now?

A flurry of finches. :-)

The cardinal must be an American bird; I've never seen one here. We get bullfinches we call 'cathedral provost' (Dompfaff), who tend to hog the feeder. Else it's mostly all sorts of titmouses, including the long tailed variant which for some reason only frequents my feeder but not my father's, blackbirds, various finches, robins, red jays (*gives the greedy monsters a dirty look*), the occasional great spotted woodpecker, and of course, sparrows.

It is -- we've lost our snow cover and Spring is threatening to arrive.

The cardinal's the state bird for Ohio, where I live. They're big, colorful, and interesting-looking birds.

We never got a snow cover and spring since mid-February. Which is not really normal.

I'm really enjoying these colourful pictures. All the birds at my feeder are brown and kind of boring. I still haven't figured out what they are.
