Hope you're not getting tired of bird pics yet... Here are two more: a male house finch with a nice pose, and our pair of mourning doves who generally nest in the backyard.

Mourning Doves

That's a beautiful house finch. With all that red, he's going to get the ladies' attention for sure.

A friend refers to Mourning Doves as "duhves". Not the sharpest tacks in the bulletin board. But they're pretty, and they'll clean up the seeds that fall from the bird feeder.

no, bird pics are almost as good as cat pics.

Yeah, he is a bright one, isn't he?

I agree that mourning doves aren't exactly the smartest birds out there, but there's something about the placid presence that's soothing.

My cats think birds are almost as good as mice. :-)

Which is why we keep them inside (he hastens to add...)

You'd have to try really, really hard to make me get tired of bird pictures.

This. Especially since we're in the depth of Ugly (you know, the season between winter and spring?), and none of the finches are even starting to show their colors.

(Turns out I was wrong -- there are still juncos in the area, but they only show up at the feeders when the weather is icky. Like it was today.)

my cat is also an indoor only feline. He gets his bird porn from the windowsills.
