I saw a report just a few minutes ago that Romney conceded Florida (http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2012/11/08/Mitt-Romney-concedes-Florida-to-Obama/UPI-58891352384824/).
I had an anxious moment Tuesday night when the networks called Ohio for Obama, then Rachel Maddow announced that the Romney campaign wasn't conceding. I thought, "Oh great, Ohio is the new Florida." I'm glad Obama got enough Electoral Votes from other states that there was no reason for Romney to officially contest Ohio's results.
Yes -- as it turned out, Obama could have lost both Ohio and Florida and still have had the 270 EVs needed... And as it turned out, Obama won both (even better).
It amuses me greatly that the Electoral Vote totals were almost exactly the opposite of what The Usual Suspects were predicting. I'm also relieved that Obama got a majority of the popular vote, since that may blunt the inevitable "But he doesn't have a mandate because..." On the other hand, it's going to be fodder for accusations of Voter Fraud By Democrats. We know that instead of answering the cluephone, The Usual Suspects will just chug another cupful of Kool-Aid.
