All --

As always, playing at DeSha's is a blast -- and it's because we always seem to have a large, boisterous, and appreciative crowd there: and that's you! Mind you, we're not certain what that says about your musical taste, but we're glad to see you, nonetheless. And we're going to try it again this Saturday night! We'll be at DeSha's at at 11320 Montgomery Road/Harper’s Point, this coming Saturday from 7:30 to 11:00.

Mind you, we're not certain that everyone in the band will be there, but we all have substitutes arranged, just in case. Rick Hagee has to be at church for the Largest Mass Catholic Wedding ever, with a thousand couples being married all at once. Predictions are that the rice could reach a depth of three inches around the church. Rick's lined up an accordion player to sit in for the first set if he's not there.

Which is why Dale might have trouble making it, since his retirement job is to work as a freelance janitor, and he's been hired to run the snowplow to clear the streets around Good Shepherd. And given that he has to count his socks before he drive the plow, well... However, Eric Clapton has agreed to sit in for Dale if he's late.

Steve will be in Louisville that afternoon, for no reason whatsoever that we can perceive except that with gas around $3.00 a gallon, he's decided that he can afford to do that. There's a tub bass player waiting in the wings if he's a little late -- the band thinks this might actually be an improvement.

Tom Steele has been trapped at an open house now for the last three days -- he's the realtor for Paul Brown Stadium. The Brown family has decided that since the Bengals can't sell out the place even when they actually have a winning record, they're going to move the team to Pisgah. Tom thinks that the stadium would be perfect for a flea market, and he's been swarmed under with people trying to reserve stall spaces around the fifty yard line. Tom hasn't lined up a sub for the gig at all, since he says no one knows when he's playing anyway.

Mike Russell, if he's there, will be taking Tom's vocal parts. But we're not certain about him, either. He's building a "Percussion Mansion" for the stage, which will have room for every percussion instrument he owns, including his extensive collection of Gongs of the World. He hopes to have the Mansion completed by the time of the show at DeSha's, provided he doesn't lose his fingers to the table saw.

Speaking of saws, Steve Gallant has a new "musical saw" patch for his Iwi, and will be taking all his solos with that. SG will be absolutely be there, since we super-glued him to the floor the last time we played there and he's been there ever since. The wait staff uses him as a tray holder.

And that leaves Tom Vogel. We're not certain that TV's even been to several of our last gigs, anyway, judging by the quality of the drumming. We suspect TV's cleverly placed a store mannequin on his drum throne and gone home to watch re-runs of "Three's Company" while we're playing. This Saturday, we're going to replace his drum set with an Indian tabla. If he can't play it, then we know he's a "tabla rasa" (obscure and misspelled pun for the intelligentsia among our fans...)

So come on out this Saturday for the first chord, to be thrown out by someone from the audience. Hey, you HAVE to show up -- just to see if we do!

See you Saturday evening at DeSha's!!
