It's a Double Feature Weekend!!!

First, on Friday night, we have the genuine and true Dynamic Duo, Mark Davis and Steve Leigh (aka THE DAVIS-LEIGH DUO) fighting crime at the College Hill Coffee Company at the corner of North Bend and Hamilton. The Bat-signal will flash over College Hill at 7:30 and stay on until 9:30 -- so there's plenty of time to come, eat, listen, and still do other things on Friday night.

The Dynamic Duo will guarantee that there will be absolutely no theft of the incredible coffee drinks and great food at the Coffee Company this weekend! Steve and Mark will use their vocal talents and guitar craftsmanship to bring criminals (and discerning listeners) to their knees.

"You see, Robin, music has tamed the savage beast," Batman will say, grinning at his clever bon mot. To which Robin will reply: "But Batman, that's actually a misquote..." Yes, Robin (aka Steve) is that kind of fun-killing stuffy academic.

We hope to see all you (even fun-killing stuffy academics) there on Friday!!

Then TOAST!, the crime-fighting band, plays this Saturday, October 8th from 7:30-11:00 at DeSha’s in Harper’s Point.

Consider this notice your virtual “TOAST! - signal”. (We’re working on a real TOAST! spotlight – but when we shine it up in the sky, it looks more like SpongeBob Square Pants).

Oh, the whole cast of characters will be on hand…..

In the leading role of Batman will be keyboardist, Rick Hagee. He’s the only one who comes to every gig already wearing a utility belt. Drummer Tom Vogel, (just like he does at home on most Saturday nights) will be dressed up like Catwoman. Me-ow, TV! Robin will be played by TV’s wife….Robin! (Yyyyesssss - that’s a good one right there!). Tom Steele and Steve Leigh will be sharing the vocals. We’ll be dressed in lime green tights and masks - like those guys who are always getting beaten up by Batman…. Aieee! Uggh! Pow! Ooooff! Awkkkkkk! Bonk! Kapow! And other examples of onomatopoeia!

But wait... Riddle me this! What is it that can give feedback without speaking a word? But, of course…it’s a saxophone. ‘Can’t wait, SG!

Stoically playing the role of Commissioner Gordon (or Alfred the butler – whichever!) will be lead guitarist Dale Lewis. He’s been practicing his stoic stage-look (don’t you DARE smile Dale!) ….for years!

The Penguin, the most challenging character of all, will be played by percussionist Mike Russell. The method actor that he is, Mike has been eating nothing but raw fish, squid, krill and other crustaceans for over a week now. Consequently, Mike will be standing by himself at the faaaar end of the band (or perhaps, outside!) this week.

Be there or be square (pants)!

And tune in next time. Same TOAST!-time. Same TOAST!-channel.
