Alas, my stint as Goh at Bubonicon is over -- and my thanks to Craig and Kristen, the con chairs, and to the entire Bubonicon staff for making this weekend a terrific one for me. I had a fabulous time, and that's all due to you folks!

Sunday was the GoH presentation. Ian gave a terrifically funny introduction (no, I am not Dorothy Parker), then George deftly interviewed me -- thankfully leaving all the deep, dark secrets he knows about me intact -- leading me through the tale about my writing path. We talked about influences and when I started writing, the sad tale of the pseudonyms and poor Matthew Farrell's tragic death, and of course my involvement with Wild Cards. Possibly more information than people might have wanted to know, but George and I had a great time.

After closing ceremonies, it was a nice, comfy dinner at a local Mexican restaurant with the con committee and volunteers, where I got to talk with many of the people who make Bubonicon such a terrific con.

And finally, Ian drove us up to Santa Fe and George's house, where we're staying for a couple nights. New Mexico arranged a terrific lightning storm to amuse us on the trip -- a fabulous light show erupting in the desert all around us. A little wet, we lugged our suitcases into the office house, and chatted with George and Ian for a time before heading to bed.

Bubonicon was a terrific experience, and now I know why the local writers have been raving about it for so long. If you get a chance, you should come out and experience it for yourself!
