Via Janice Gelb on another list, this interesting little article. It seems that an Icelandic town was digging a tunnel and dynamiting to create an avalanche barrier, but the projects were beset by breakdowns and strange accidents, and some of the townspeople have decided that really ticked-off elves are the cause of it, and the only way to appease them is to give them a song.
